« Previous Product Next Product »--- CUSTOM ADAPTATION --- PURPOSE: To provide a customized adaptation to operate the level mechanism of a reclining chair for an individual with right arm weakness. The original lever was quite short and positioned low down on the right side making it very difficult to push down to raise and lower the leg support section of the chair. A handle was created that bent out far enough from the base so it cleared the chair armrest and with a modified handgrip for easier grasping. A bent section of square steel tube was used to make the new handle and was painted black with an added gold ball handle (matching the existing room environment). The new handle was attached to the existing mechanism protruding from the chair base. The spring tension was also modified so that the lever was easier to operate. TITLE: Better leverage.
