--- DISCONTINUED. (VERIFIED 7/93) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Forearm Fracture Cast Brace for immobilization of the forearm in supination while hinging the wrist to allow dorsiflexion and palmar flexion, may be applied for Colles type fractures. This method of fracture care has been found to decrease the chances of the fracture returning to the original deformity while the arm remains at a functional level. Two models. The standard forearm fracture brace is incorporated into casts wrapped around the forearm and hand. A newer model includes a preformed hand piece and requires only incorporation into the wrist cast, saving time and casting materials.
