(Verified 08/2007) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The DataArm is an arm support designed for use while keyboarding or typing, precision component assembly, or other vocational and communication applications. The support aids in reducing up to 90 percent of neck and shoulder muscle activity required to maintain a static arm position during keyboarding or other manual activities. It puts the wrist in a neutral position, eliminates direct pressure on the transverse ligament on the underside of the wrist to end compression of the carpal tunnel, and allows the shoulder (trapezius) muscles to be relaxed while the static arm position required for keying is maintained. The device maintains a neutral wrist position during horizontal movement across the keyboard. Hands and arms "float" across the keyboard without ulnar deviation. The support can be adjusted vertically for tasks at or above the work level, and can be set to move with the user's arm movements or locked. This forearm support can be screw clamped to any work surface .75 to 2.5 inches thick.
