Picture of MEMO PORTABLE PILL BOX -------- PROTOTYPE --------- PURPOSE: To design a prototype of an LED alert portable pill box for individuals with memory disabilities and other conditions that affect memory such as Alzheimer’s disease. Memo is a portable pill box system designed specifically for people with Alzheimer's disease to remind them when and how many pills to take using colored boxes and an LED indicator. The Memo system uses a two-step process: (1) the prescribing physician enters the quantities, time, and other details of the user's medication regimen into software; (2) each medication is linked to a color and that medication is places in the Memo pill box that matches that color. The pill boxes are then stacked and attached to form a single unit with the LED indicator on top. The LED indicator will glows increasingly brightly in one of the programmed colors to remind the individual to take specific pills at the right moment and in the right quantity. The Memo is made of soft touch rubber, aluminum, a small circuit board, battery, and LED lights. TITLE: Pill Box for Alzheimer Patients. WEBSITE: Yanko Design.
