« Previous Product Next Product »The Grip I (GP1000) and Grip II (GP2000) are body-powered terminal devices for prosthetic wrists. Grip I is for adults only with large hands and below the elbow amputation. Grip II is for children (approximately 11 years or older) and adults with average hand size, wrist disarticulates, below the elbow amputations and partial hand. The Grips feature cable operated voluntary closing, pull-to-close prehensile action, and "active" neuro-muscular system participation. The range of gripping forces is between 0 and 110 pounds. The grips are designed for high performance hand replacements useful in any trade or labor situation, yet delicate enough to slice a tomato or to focus a camera. The grips are capable of handling free weights (with a recommended locking pin) and exercise equipment, and recreational or sports related activities. Use of the device may prevent or reverse muscle atrophy in specific muscle groups of the residual limb and shoulder. The grips are made of surgical grade stainless steel, aircraft grade aluminum components, and sealed ball bearings. Both grips are built with 1/2-inch by 20 threads per inch stud to fit any standard prosthesis. DIMENSIONS: Grip I is 6.5 inches long x .5 inches wide with a maximum wrist diameter of 1.75 inches and an opening of 2.6 inches. Grip II is 5.5 inches x .5 inches with a maximum wrist diameter of 1.55 inches and an opening of 2.5 inches. WEIGHT: Grip I is 16 ounces (1 pound); Grip II is 12 ounces.
