This switch utilizes conciously generated signals detected by a receiver worn on the user's forehead. These signals are converted to an output of electrical control signal, enabling the user to control a single switch using eye movement, facial muscle activity, or thought. No physical movement is required. The user must be concious, have clarity of thought, be able to hear and understand, and to be able to learn to quiet the mind and increase concious concious mental activity at will. Eye movement and the ability to see is not required. This device interfaces with personal computers (PCs) through a RS-232 C. A computer training program using auditory and visual modes for learning to control mental states is included. The program also enables caregivers to determine proper settings. The program is not required for operation of the switch. The device is designed to operate as an independent single switch and plugs into the device to be operated with a mini plug. MCTOS can be used with standard communication and environmental control devices, as well as single-switch operated computer programs. The components of the switch include the controller, the head-worn detector or receiver, an alternating current (AC) adapter, a signal cable, a detector in plug, a power on lamp, a range low switch that sets the lowest frequency of the frequency to be set, a range high switch that sets the highest frequency of the signal to be picked up, and a level/ratio switch.
