The Columbia TheraPedic Positioning Seat, model 2000, is a car seat designed for use in the transport of children with physical and neurological disabilities affecting balance and the ability to sit upright. The seat can be used by children up to 5 feet tall, and may also be used as a wheelchair insert. The unit consists of a vacuum-formed ABS plastic shell with chromed steel side tubes, fire-retardant upholstery, a five-point nylon webbing safety harness, and a nylon webbing supplementary tether. Included with the seat are four lateral positioning pads, two head pads, a crotch strap pad, two shoulder strap pads, and a locking clip. OPTIONS: A stroller base is also available (see separate entry). Other options include a BuckleGuard to prevent the child from releasing the seat harness buckle; an Extensor Thrust Wedge to changes the seat-to-back angle; Seat Depth Extenders to add 2.5 or 5 inches of seat depth; and a Swing Away Abductor (padded pommel on a swing away hinge) for use on seats without Seat Depth Extenders. DIMENSIONS (HxLxWx): Overall measurements are 29 x 10 x 15 inches. The seat lip measures 3 inches. CAPACITY: 20 to 102 pounds. WEIGHT: 11 pounds. COLOR: Sunset Pink, Silver Fox Gray, or Designer Blue. WARRANTY: One year full warranty against defects.
