(Verified 08/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Focus in Mathematics, model 1-08280-00, is an activity-based program in mathematics designed for use by teachers of students who are blind or deaf blind, or who have low vision or multiple disabilities including blindness or low vision. The program emphasizes the fundamental operations, properties, and structures of math. It includes 177 activities with over 400 manipulative items, designed to be easily handled and to offer tactile and visual contrast. Concepts include sorting, matching, counting, addition, subtraction, fractions, graphs, times, and money. The Academic Program Complete Kit, model 1-8280-00, includes a teacher's manual for general use, including activities for students who are blind or have low vision. Separate teacher's manuals are available that provide activites for students who are deaf blind (model 7-42710-00) or multihandicapped (model 7-42720-00). OPTIONS: The general academic manual is also available separately.
