The New International Manual of Braille Music Notation, CD-ROM Edition, is a manual on braille music for individuals who are blind or have low vision. This CD-ROM includes the full text of the print edition. This reference work, compiled by Bettye Krolick, explains the braille music signs and rules adopted as the international standard by 16 countries in the World Blind Union. The book provides detailed explanations of how specific musical situations are handled in the music braille code. It has a braille sign index so the user can find out what a specific braille sign means, and an alphabetic index of musical terms. The CD-ROM version allows users to navigate through the entire book by clicking on hyperlinks, or to search for specific words or braille signs. When the user clicks on a music symbol or braille sign, a window pops up to explain what it means. The CD-ROM version also features audio playback of each musical example. OPTIONS: 282-page print version published by SVB, Amsterdam, Netherlands, 1997; 3-volume braille version published by Braille Press Zurich, Switzerland, 1997.
