This 2.4-gigaHertz FM system is designed to help individuals who have significant difficulty understanding conversation in background noise, such as in restaurants and other noisy places. It enables up to three talkers to speak to a single listener. The microphones in this system give up to a ten-to-one decrease in the relative noise level that is heard by the listener, which makes it possible to carry on a normal conversation even in high levels of background noise. The system has a range or up to 150 feet, and can be used with cochlear implants or hearing aid T-coils coupled with a neckloop. The complete system includes a listener unit, three talker units (standard configuration), one pair of ER-6i Isolator earphones, a charging cable, an AC adapter, a carrying case, and a user guide. POWER: Uses lithium polymer rechargeable batteries. To conserve battery life, the system automatically times out and turns off after a period of inactivity. OPTIONS: Fourth talker unit; teleloops.
