(Verified 05/2006) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- GROUP/TALK is a direct-by-wire amplification system designed for use by small groups of persons with hearing disabilities in nursing homes, retirement communities, and health centers to help them talk back and forth among themselves and to provide television or VCR sound enhancement. Since all the users are plugged into a junction box, other sources of sound can also be plugged into it such as a television set, VCR, or the microphone used by a staff person or speaker. Each person can control the colume he/she prefers. The system is portable and battery operated so that it can used indoors or outdoors. GROUP/TALK consists of an ear speaker that delivers the intended sound to the person's ear. This ear speaker is connected to a hand-held amplifier with volume control that is also equipped with a microphone. The amplifier plugs into a junction box which has ten plug-in stations. The GROUP/TALK system comes with one external microphone and extension cord, one junction box, one VCR/TV plug-in cord, and 8 ear speakers/amplifiers.
