--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 05/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. ---Tactaid 7 is a 7-channel vibrotactile amplification system, similar in appearance to a body type hearing aid, which turns sounds into vibrations. The unit's electronics perform a format analysis resulting in a distinct pattern of vibrations for any sound. A patented automatic noise suppressor prevents background noise from interfering with important sounds. A microphone sensitivity control allows the user to tune to the most important sounds. The device plugs into FM systems for use in the classroom, and includes a "T" coil for use with audio loop systems or telephones. The system comes with a training manual, tie clip microphone, 2 rechargable batteries, battery charger, vibrators, vibrator bands, cord and user manual. POWER: Battery operated.
