(Verified 04/2008) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Sign Language Training for the Developmentally Delayed is designed to teach vocabulary in American Sign Language to children who are developmentally delayed. The videotape displays a split screen on the television with one side showing a picture of the object/action/word, and the other side showing a person demonstrating the sign. Each sign is presented twice, allowing time in between for actual practicing of the sign. The signs selected for these videotapes consist of vocabulary frequently used in group homes, developmental centers, and residential institutions. Part 1: Food and Kitchen provides signs for breakfast, lunch, supper, snacks, desserts, kitchen items and appliances. Part 2: Color and Clothing provide signs for alphabet, colors, clothing, and combinations. Part 3: Verbs/Adjectives and Personal Hygiene provide signs for numbers, basic verbs, adjectives, personal hygiene and combinations. Part 1 runs 49 minutes and parts 2 and 3 run 22 minutes each.
