Epoq is a wireless hearing aid designed for use by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. It is available in two open-fit designs with a shell that fits behind the ear and a receiver worn in the ear, and three custom in-the-ear styles: CIC (Completely In The Ear), ITC (In The Canal), and HS (Half Shell). Except for CIC models, these hearing aids have wireless ear-to-ear functionality allowing left and right hearing aids to communicate with each other to coordinate and adjust sound quality and level. As manual adjustments are made, the user's preferences are recorded, and when the same or similar acoustic environments are experienced, the hearing aid automatically adjusts to those preferences. Other features include a high frequency range (up to 10,000 Hertz), the ability to distinguish between speaking and listening (so that the sound of the user's voice is processed differently from the sound of other voices), and forward directionality to help the user tell whether sounds are coming from the front or from behind. OPTIONS: Streamer, a compact Bluetooth device for connecting to external sound sources such as cell phones, personal computers, or MP3 music players. POWER: ITC and half shell models use size 312 battery; CIC model uses size 10A battery. COLORS: Behind-the-ear shell is available in beige silver, orchid, white silver, steel silver, silver grey, ice blue, gold dust, or espresso. Streamer is available in black or white.
