The spectrum of speech sounds are shown instantly by lights on the front panel connected to 16 bandpass filters. Each filter is connected to a vertical column and two lamps behind the translucent front panel. Spectrum, horizontal frequency scale. Intensity, vertical scale. Unit has a freezing circuit. By pressing a button, the speech sound pattern can be frozen in position on the light panel and kept until the button is released.
