Picture of GAITRITE SYSTEM The GAITRite System is a computerized gait analysis system designed for use to assess walking patterns of seniors and individuals with balance, lower extremity, or walking disabilities. The system includes a portable carpet with 16,128 sensors. As the individual walks down this carpet, the system measures cadence, step length, velocity, step-by-step variability, and other gait parameters. Plantar pressures are measured at up to 300 Hz, including shear. All parameters can be tracked, reported, and graphed within minutes. The system can be used to determine dynamic balance and predict fall risk. It can also be used to evaluate the necessity for orthoses, and document their efficacy. Untethered data collection allows for complete freedom of movement during functional tasks. DIMENSIONS: Carpet is 14 feet long.
