  1. LIP HALTER. ------- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: Aid to lift the lower lip to reduce drooling. A piece of elastic is run through a piece of plastic tubing. Hold both elastic halves to simulate a chin cup, with the plastic tubing just under the lower lip. Cross the elastic straps at the corners of the mouth. Mark the areas and sew the crossed straps together to form a lip strap and a chin strap. Place the halter on the patient and mark the top of the ears.
