The Hand Gym Exercise Unit, model 70900, is a therapeutic hand exerciser designed for use by individuals with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, partial paralysis after stroke or who have had accidents, fractures, multiple sclerosis, or hand surgery. As a therapy tool, this triangular device helps to maintain dexterity and range of motion using isotonic, isometric, and resistive movements while the hand is positioned for optimal funcitoning. It may also be used to improve hand strength or agility. The device consists of five parallel, clear plastic plates with spacer rods along with foam cushions and rubber bands which adjust for different exercises and hand sizes. Each finger joint can be exercised individually or together. The included instruction manual provides seven range of motion exercises and 13 isometric exercises, all with descriptions of the muscles being worked. DIMENSIONS: 5.5 x 6.5 x 7.5 inches. WEIGHT: 12 ounces.
