--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 7/2004) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Shape Switches, models 930, 940, and 950, are puzzle switches designed to be used as capability switches or as visual motor activities for individuals who have physical, cognitive or sensory disabilities. The puzzles introduce basic cognitive concepts, improve fine motor skills and develop order and sequencing skills which are important building blocks for logical thinking and organization. They also teach individuals to distinguish colors, shapes, and sizes. When the puzzle pieces are properly inserted into the switch, they can activate a toy or electronic device. Each puzzle consists of a white plastic base that can be mounted to a table or table-like surface with four suction cup feet. On top of the base is one (No. 930), two (No. 940), or three (No. 950) shape cut-outs. Matching shape pieces must be correctly inserted into the cut-outs for activation to occur. All pieces have posts for manipulation by very young children, or children with poor coordination skills.

Notes: Toys for Special Children also designs, develops, and manufactures one-of- a-kind devices for persons with disabilities.
