This series six duplicatable books that can be used by high school students and adults with various disabilities. The books were developed to increase job readiness and vocational skills, to introduce the fundamental concepts in the study of cosmetology, and to prepare students to take the State Board Examination tests. This series was designed for students to use independently or in groups. A teacher's guide is included. The duplicatable books include: Bacteriology and Chemistry (chemicals used in a salon; chemistry of cosmetics; types of bacteria, infections, and immunity; basic chemistry, acidity, and alkalinity); Dermatology and Trichology (structure of the hair; properties of hair; nerves in the skin, sweat and oil glands; skin and scalp/Dermis and epidermis; massage movements; trichology/hair root); Chemical Waving, Hair Relaxing, Hair Coloring; Hair Shaping (hair styling techniques, rollers, pin curls, facial shapes); State Board Review. These duplicatable books are available in digital format (Word or PDF) at no additional cost, after purchase. This allows for the print to be enlarged and the materials to be put into alternate formats.
