(Verified 8/2007) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Sparky Joystick Powerchair and the Sparky Tiller Powerchair are powered wheelchair alternatives for indoor or all-terrain outdoor use by people who have limited mobility or physical disabilities. Both models include a on/off key switch. FRAME: Both models have a compact frame with rear anti-tippers that is 47 inches long and 23 inches wide. The Tiller Model has a 27-inch turning radius and the Joystick Model has a 40-inch turning radius. Both models have a center ground clearance of 4.5 inches a with multi-coil spring suspension. CONTROLS: The Joystick Model is equipped with a one-finger joystick controller that can be right- or left-mounted. This model also includes power steering and a two-gear transmission which allows extra power for climbing or shift for high speeds. The Tiller model utilize a tiller for one-handed steering. A foot pedal control for starting, stopping, and speed is also available. REAR-WHEEL DRIVE: Both models have a removable, sealed rear-wheel direct drive transaxle. SEAT: Both versions come standard with a folding, padded swivel seat with a standard seat height of 18.5 inches. Deluxe models include an electric seat lift. A high-back seat with lumbar support and an adjustable headrest or an extra-wide seat with lift-up armrests are also available. CUSHION: An optional Bye-Bye Decubiti natural rubber air sushion is available with or without a fleece cover. UPHOLSTERY: Gray vinyl. A removable, machine-washable velour seat cover is available. ARMRESTS: Optional. BRAKES: Regenerative brake system with an automatic parking and manual release. WHEELS: Four 10-inch wheels with non-marring pneumatic tires. OPTIONS: Removable cane and crutch holder, headlight, two rear tail lights (headlight package required), weather and dust cover, removable supermarket shopping basket, walker holder, oxygen tank holder, shoulder harness/lap seat belt, lap seat belt, coiled cable and lock security system, 6-foot extension cord for battery charger, safety flag, removable surrey top, Caboose Tag-along Cart (for second rider), Handy Kart Collapsible Cargo/Storage Trailer, rear view mirror, PowerStar charger/converter (permits battery charging using an automobile cigarette lighter), and adjustable legrests. POWER: Two removable 12-volt gel cell batteries. The unit includes a built-in battery chargers. SPEEDS: 2 to 6 miles per hour with a maximum range of 20 miles and a climbing capacity of a 25 per cent (14 degree) incline. The unit includes a variable electronic speed control. CAPACITY: 450 pounds. WEIGHT: 245 pounds (including batteries); 107 pounds without batteries. WARRANTY: The manufacturer offers a lifetime frame warranty and a limited warranty on other parts and components for one year from the date of delivery. Batteries are covered by a one-year pro-rated warranty.
