Frame constructed of steel and steel alloy tubing, chrome plated using Dur-Ni process. Concealed inner reinforcing and precision mandril bending increases frame strength at stress areas. Padded upholstered armrests with plastic base. Cushioned embossed leatherette seat and back upholstery reinforced with inner liner. Toggle type wheel locks. Swinging detachable footrests are self storing and self locking with a cam action lock. Footrests adjust individually for length and have heel loops and nonslip rubber pads to prevent feet from sliding off footplate. 8 by 1 3/4 inch Delrin solid spoke semipneumatic wheels. Double set of sealed precision ball bearings on each caster and wheel. Tires are gray nonmarking. Powered by two 12 volt batteries. Proportional control moves the chair smoothly from zero to a top speed of 3.5 mph. Batteries are not included. Net weight 51 pounds, without footrests or batteries. Available in adult 18 inch, narrow adult 16 inch, child 14 inch and tot 12 inch seat widths.
