(Verified 09/2010) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Chairman Koala Miniflex is a child's powered wheelchair designed for use by toddlers to young teens with mobility or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. FRAME (LxWxH): 38 x 22 x 28, 30, or 34 inches. The transportable size is 29 x 22 x 26 inches. The turning radius is 22 inches and the turning space required for a 180-degree turn is 35 inches. The chair climb curbs up to 2.5 inches high. This non-folding power base chair is available with a choice of a red or yellow shroud. Options include a lights and turn signal package and a front bumper. CONTROLS: Right- or left-hand mounted remote retractable joystick and Penny & Giles Pilot+ controller are standard. A midline-mounted joystick is available at an extra charge Controls are programmable using the Penny & Giles Pilot+ controller. Omni+ alternative drive switch options are available, as is an attendant controller. FWD: Front wheel drive. SEAT: The Mini-Flex seat grows with the child by changing seat plates and cushions. The seat frame can also accept molded and other seating systems. An elevator/seat tilt feature permits active to passive seat positioning without tools. The seat height adjusts from 15 to 25 inches. The seat height and depth and the back rest width are available in a choice of small (10 inches), medium (12 inches), or large (14 inches). The back rest height is available in a choice of 14 inches (small), 16 inches (medium), or 20 inches (large). The back rest angle adjusts from 90 to 165 degrees with a choice of manual or power adjustment. The seat tilt angle adjusts from 0 to 25 degrees or -5 degrees to 20 degrees. A positioning belt is included. Seat options include a four-point belt, headrest, thigh supports, and trunk supports. UPHOLSTERY: Leatherette or fabric. ARMRESTS: A choice of 8- or 10-inch armrests with fabric or leatherette upholstery is available. The armrest height adjusts from 5 to 10 inches. BRAKES: Electronic brakes. CASTERS: Rear casters with pneumatic tires. WHEELS: Front drive wheels with pneumatic tires. FOOTRESTS: Small or large one-piece footplate with a 5- to 12-inch seat pan to footplate adjustment is standard. The leg support angle is manually adjustable from 90 to 140 degrees. Foot straps are available. OPTIONS: Backpack hooks and a Lexan tray. POWER: Uses M40 gel cell batteries. A battery charger is included. Charging time is six to eight hours. SPEEDS: Maximum speed is 4.5 miles per hour for a range of up to 16 miles. CAPACITY: 110 pounds. WEIGHT: 190 pounds including batteries.
