(Verified 9/1999) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Electro-Lite is a powered wheelchair designed to be lightweight and easy to transport in commercial or personal transportation vehicles. FRAME: The folding, aircraft aluminum frame disassembles for transport into components weighing less than 22 pounds each. The frame comes in standard black powder coated paint, but is available in 9 other optional colors (at additional cost). Overall height of the chair is 19 inches, but a hemi model of 17 inches is also available. Anti-tip casters are standard. CONTROLS: Joystick control box attached to armrest. SEAT: Standard seat width and depth are either 16 x 16 inches or 18 x 16 inches. Optional widths are 12 to 15 inches, 17, or 19 to 20 inches. Optional depths are 12 to 15 or 17 to 20 inches. Back height of the seat is adjustable from 14 to 19 inches; optional back heights of 20 or 21 inches also available. CUSHION: 2, 3, or 4 inch cushion is optional. ARMRESTS: Padded, desk length, rear pivoting adjustable height arms are standard for the adult sizes, half-arms are standard for pediatric sizes; full length padded, user height adjustable with lock down arms are optional. BRAKES: Electro-mechanical brakes. CASTERS: 8-inch semi-pneumatic casters. WHEELS: 20-inch pneumatic mag wheels standard (24-inch with Engage/Disengage unit); 22 or 24-inch pneumatic mag wheels optional. FOOTRESTS: Solid composite, swing-away footrests with heel loops are standard; 90 degree extensions and elevating leg rests optional. POWER: The power system is a lightweight power module that will drive up a 9 degree (15 percent) dry grade. Current limiting to prevent motor overload. An electric Engage/Disengage unit is optional for power or free-wheeling position ($4500, with standard chair). Two 24-volt permanent magnet motors are capable of developing over 1/4 horsepower each. A 2.5A electronic battery charger is included that is specifically designed to optimize performance and maximize battery life; approximately 10 miles per charge on hard, flat surfaces. 12-volt batteries not included. SPEEDS: Adjustable speed from 0 to 5.25 miles per hour. CAPACITY: 250 pounds maximum user weight. WEIGHT: Total weight for adult models is 92 to 99 pounds, 83 to 85 pounds for children's model, batteries included. Frame weight without footrests is 32 to 34 pounds.
