Picture of LIFTKAR PT-S (MODEL 045-726) The LIFTKAR PT-S, model 045-726, is a powered stair transport chair and emergency evacuation carrier designed for indoor or outdoor use to allow an attendant to easily move an individual with lower extremity or mobility disabilities or spinal cord injury up and down most staircases. The device consists of a base with two wheels and two casters with a seat with backrest and armrests and a vertical post extending from the base unit with the control mechanisms on the upright side topped with a U-shaped grip with a horizontal crossbar on the top between the two handgrips. The crossbar has “Up/Down” switches on both ends. There is another horizontal crossbar lower down on the post to which the backrest is attached. The seat and casters fold for storage. OPERATION: The user is seated in the LiftKar’s seat and secured with a lapbelt (included). Ascending or descending the stairs is initiated with a push button that engages the motor. Unit and passenger are then moved up or down the stairway. POWER: Uses a rechargeable 24 Volt DC 5.2 amp battery pack. Maximum power capacity is 300-500 stairs. BRAKES: Automatic brakes. OPTIONS: Mobile battery charger. DIMENSIONS (HxWxD): 44.49 x 19.88 x 26.75 inches. With the seat and casters folded, the depth is 23.62 inches. The LIFTKAR PT-S requires a landing area of 31.5 x 35.4 inches. Maximum step height is 8.25 inches. WHEELS: 2 3.14-inch wheels with grey non-marking tires. SPEED: 10-18 steps per minute. CAPACITY: Maximum load is 352 pounds. WEIGHT: 67.24 pounds.
