--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 11/2009) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Around The Community, model 41603, is a pre-reading and independent living skills tutorial for children with disabilities. The game consists of four wooden score cards covered with brightly painted depictions of common activities, including a crying baby, a chicken, a motorcycle, a bus, a stream, and other similar objects and people. An audio tape of recorded sounds normally associated with each graphic is included in the kit. The game is used to assist children in relating sounds to pictures, strengthen concentration, develop perception of familiar sounds and assist in language development.
