--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 11/2008) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Simple Sentence Structure is a language and vocabulary enhncement tutorial program designed to train subject-verb-object word order in simple sentences and reinforce early developing vocabulary for individuals who have language learning disabilities, physical disabilities, visual disabilities, hearing disabilities, and autism. This program addresses the problems that children with language disabilities have with word order processing and production by teaching them to correctly set universal word order parameters to their English subject-verb-object order setting. Two pictures appear on the screen and the child is asked to choose the picture that illustrates a particular sentence. Children work through four sentence sets: contrasting verbs, contrasting objects, contrasting subjects, and subject/object reversal. There are six levels of training with each level having varying amounts of instruction, cuing, and feedback to accomodate a wide range of learners. Other features include clear speech, colorful graphics, and amusing animation; optional text; teacher control over lesson presentation; and accessibility with keyboard, touch screen, single switch, or mouse. COMPATIBILITY: For use with Macintosh and IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The IBM and compatible version requires a hard drive, Windows, and VGA graphics. The Macintosh version requires a Macintosh LC or above; 12-inch color display (256 colors/gray); System 7 software; a hard drive; and 4 megabytes (MB) of RAM.

Notes: Simple Sentence Structure Classic is designed for computers that do not meet the mininmum requirements of Simple Sentence Structure Sterling Edition (see entry). ** Network licenses and price discounts on purchases of five or more copies of this software are available.
