Available in a home user version or a single-user school version, this programs draw young learners into magical lands with kangaroos and giants to find the gifts teachers desire. This interactive literacy program offers two adventures to lead children through focused literacy activities where they practice skills such as identifying beginning letter sounds, story sequencing, and filling in missing words from a selection of pictures. The program provides assistance with difficult words and all text is narrated at the reader's pace with wor-by-word highlighting. A repeat speech button enables users to hear unfamiliar words as many time as needed. Photocopiable resource materials and a comprehensive teacher's guide are included. COMPATIBILITY: The CD-ROM includes versions for use on IBM and compatible or Macintosh computers with or without a network. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The IBM and compatible version required a 486, 33 megaHertz (MHz) or faster processor, Windows 3.1 or better, 8 megabytes (MB) RAM, a 2X CD-ROM drive, sound card, and SVGA graphics. The Macintosh version requires an LCII processor, 8 MB RAM, 2X CD-ROM drive, and a 640 x 480 256-color monitor.
