(Verified 9/1999) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The LORE Alphabet Playing Cards are language training flash cards designed to teach english to children and adults with a learning disability. These cards can be used to reinforce letter recognition, alphabet sequencing, phonics and word-building using a number games for which instructions are included. They also exercise eye-hand coordination, matching and sorting skills, memory and simple reasoning. The kit comes with 104 cards (four cards for each letter) each showing the upper and lower case letter and one of four symbols (diamond, star, triangle or dot) at the center bottom of the card. The symbol is used for "positioning" letter, help to teach shapes, and can be used as playing card "suits". These cards are smaller than traditional flash cards and so can be shuffled and easily maneuvered. Words can be quickly changed and broken down. The kit comes with an attractive carrying case along with the cards and game instrustions. OPTIONS: Also available is a list of 1800 words grouped byparts of speech and vowel sounds. COLOR: Letters are printed in brilliant blue.
