Picture of SIMPLE SENTENCE STRUCTURE STERLING EDITION Simple Sentence Structure Sterling Edition is a language tutorial program designed for use by individuals who have language learning, physical, visual, or hearing disabilities, or autism. Designed to teach subject-verb-object word order in simple sentences and reinforce early developing vocabulary, this program addresses the problems that children with language disabilities have with word order processing and production by teaching them to correctly set universal word order parameters to their English subject-verb-object order setting. Two pictures appear on the screen and the child is asked to choose the picture that illustrates a particular sentence. Each sentence set contains 20 sentences with pairs that cover contrasting verbs, contrasting objects, contrasting subjects, and subject/object reversal. The program monitors each student response and then adjusts the training level accordingly. Instructional reinforcement animations prepare students for the Reversibles set. The program also includes the Sterling Administration System, a set of tools that eases student management, simplifies data analysis, and offers new report-writing options.
