Two speeds in forward with maximum speed about 4 mph, 2 reverse speeds. Front wheel drive. Control on steering handle. 8 3/4 inch pneumatic tires provide extra traction on incline and outdoor terrain. Rear wheel brake. 360 degree swivel padded fiberglass seat, seat lock. Easily disassembled for car transport. Adjustable rear wheel axle, 20 1/2 to 26 1/2 inches. Overall length 42 inches. Seat height 15 inches. Chrome frame. Electric elevating seat option adjusts 6 inches. Uses U-1 battery. Weight 79 pounds, 91 pounds with electric elevating seat.

Specify powered wheelchair. --- EVALUATION--- This scooter was included in a "Product Comparison and Evaluation" study on Scooters completed by the Rehabilitation Engineering Center at the National Rehabilitation Hospital and ECRI under a cooperative agreement (##H-133E80016) from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) of the US Dept of Education. The 1991 study reports on how the scooters were evaluated, describes selection criteria, provides tips on maintenance and use, reports problems that were identified, and states conclusions regarding acceptability. Copies of the study are available from the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Rehabilitation Engineering Center, 102 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC 20010-2949, 202-877-1932, 202-726- 3996 TDD.
