Google Voice Search Demo is a voice input Web browser designed for use by individuals with upper extremity disabilities. This system enables users to telephone an automated voice search system to obtain Google Web search results. The user calls the system at 650-318-0165 and at the prompt "Say Your Search Keywords" speaks his/her query to the system. Once this is complete, the system notifies the user that the results are ready and clicking a link on http://labs1.google.com/gvs.html opens a new window with the search results. Speaking another query updates the window with new search results. The system automatically detects when the user begins and finishes speaking to generate results. It is set as a loop; each new query spoken generates new results. When the user is finished searching, he or she simply hangs up. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: A Javascript enabled browser is required for results to be automatically updated.

Notes: Google is a trademark. ** The manufacturer states the system is trained for standard connected speech; extra pauses, unusual emphasis or stress on words should be avoided.

Price: FREE.
