Thermo-Pen II is a thermal pen designed for use in the creation of tactile images and messages for individuals who are blind or have low vision. Like Thermo-Pen I (see separate entry), Thermo-Pen II is a writing instrument designed to create a raised image directly on tactile graphics paper. By holding the pen vertically above a sheet of Flexi-Paper (see separate entry) and passing it slowly across the paper (no pressure necessary), a tactile image is formed. Thermo-Pen II also creates tactile images at a higher rate of speed than Thermo-Pen I. It has a built-in control knob that turns it on and off and controls the temperature of the tip. POWERS: Uses standard household current.
