The Voila Voiced Labels Recognizer is a voice output bar code reader labeling system designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. The system consists of reusable labels that can be attached to objects, and a pen-shaped device that reads the special customized code on the labels and plays back recorded messages. The labels have an adhesive backing for affixing to objects, and can also be sewn or taped to objects or simply hung from them. The labels have a raised shape which allows them to be located by touch, and which also acts as a guide for the scanning pen, which is held like a regular writing pen. Where the point of the writing pen would be, this pen has a sapphire lens or "eye" that reads the labels. Messages are spoken through a built-in speaker. The speaker volume can be adjusted. Besides its reading function, the pen can also be used for recording, erasing, and browsing through labels. The system includes one scanning pen and labels numbered 1-50. POWER: Uses two double-A batteries. OPTIONS: Sets of extra labels (numbers 51-100, 101-150, 151-200, and 201-250).
Notes: Shipping and handling charges are not included in the purchase price listed.
Price: 199.95.
