(Verified 09/2006) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- WinVision 97 is a voice output screen reading program designed to provide computer and Internet access for individuals who are blind or have low vision. This program provides full support for Windows 95 and is optimized for Microsoft Office97, Internet Explorer (web browser), Active Accessibility, and other feature enhancements. WinVision 97 is designed to work proactively with Internet Explorer with a built-in Web cursor and logic system that enables the screen reader to recognize the formatting of Web pages, columns, and tables automatically. Links wrapping around a line will also be spoken correctly, and when the user moves over a link, WinVision 97 activates it to cause Internet Explorer to synchronize and render a page. A Web-Pilot mode continuously reads and feeds a Web page and enables hands-free navigation. This program also offers key re-mapping to allow users to map keys in their preferred manner and a context sensitive help facility. This program works with standard video and keyboard drivers and also automatically works with most popular applications, including Word, WordPerfect, Lotus 123, Excel, and many others. Other features include single-disk installation with spoken instructions; Docu-pilot to automatically read documents; advanced bit text capturing; speaking of dialog boxes; spread sheet mode; word search mouse snap; mouse auto-jump mode; speaking of general window information; recognition of all toolbars in Word 6.0; dual icon naming; icon reading; predefined labels for common icons; custom check mark recognition; control type announcement; class name announcement; suport for Adobe Type Manager; support for many refreshable Braille and speech synthesizer devices; support for 256-color drivers for multi-media; keyboard mouse emulation; automatic speaking of new window names and dialog boxes; automatic tracking of Windows' pull-down menus; automatic tracking of buttons, radio buttons, and check-off buttons; speaking of font information (size, bold, etc.); spelling of last word spoken; spell check asist; control of speech synthesizer parameters; and more. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers equipped with Windows 95/98.
