--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 02/2009) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Duxbury Braille Board is a braille translation program designed to translate written text into grade 2 braille for individuals who are blind or have low vision. A simplified version of the Duxbury Braille Translator for Windows (see separate entry), the Braille Board is very flexible in its mode of operation. As a stand-alone application, it can create braille and emboss it on a commercial embossing device or an engraving machine equipped with a compatible braille font and save work as an ASCII text file for use in almost any MS-DOS application. For users who create layouts in other Windows applications, the braille fonts included with this program enable the creation of layouts in such programs as Aldus PageMaker, CASmate, FlexiSign, Graphix Advantage, CorelDRAW and Ventura Publisher for Windows, and others. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 386 through Pentium or higher processor, 2 megabytes (MB) RAM, 1MB available hard drive space, Microsoft Windows 3.0 or higher, and support for Adobe Type 1 or True Type Fonts.
