Picture of GH PLAYER The gh PLAYER is a digital talking book player program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This playback software enables users to play DAISY-standard digital talking books, save time finding information, and improve reading productivity. Text can be read aloud with or without an on-screen display. Users have the option of navigating a book by individual sections or segments or by going directly to a specific page, and can determine their location within the book using the program's "Where am I?" feature. Users can search the text or navigation tree to find desired information, and can add notes or bookmarks to any page. Menus, buttons, search tools, and bookmarks all have self-voicing capability. The display can be customized by enhancing the contrast, highlighting text, changing font size, hiding/showing text display, and setting the background and foreground color. Keyboard shortcuts are intuitive and customizable. A beeping sound signals the end of a section. "Help" describes the functions of each of the player's features. The PLAYER can read TXT files created from a variety of OCR scanning and text editing software and export a TXT file as a DAISY 3.0 Digital Talking Book. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible personal computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows NT, 2000, or XP with a Pentium 2 or faster processor and 128 megabytes (MB) of memory.

Notes: This digital talking book player program is available only to purchasers of digital talking books produced to order by gh LLC. ** gh PLAYER is a trademark of gh LLC. ** The manufacturer states that this software is compliant with Section 508 and DAISY / ANSI-NISO Z39-86-2002 standards.
