(Verified 11/2002) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. ---Big Picture, model 1-03930, is a low vision reading system designed to magnify print and display it on any ordinary TV for individuals with low vision. This electronic magnifier can be used to magnify any printed material, such as newspapers, letters, recipe cards, medicine bottles, etc. It is a hand held TV camera that easily connects to a TV and displays magnified black and white images on a black and white or color television. There are three parts that make up the system; the scanner, a miniature camera that attaches to the controller; the controller, a control box with only two switches to manipulate; and the A/B switch, which allows you to easily switch back and forth between the Big Picture and regular television. The system also comes with connecting cables, a power adapter, and a canvas carrying bag. Three different modes include inversed text, which switches black text on white background to white text on black background; enhanced text, which enhaces the contrast betweeen black and white; and standard text, which displays the image as it appears to the eye. The unit is small and compact and easily transported. POWER: The controller uses a 12V DC power adapter (included). Adapter plugs into 120V AC, 60 Hz outlet. DIMENSIONS: The Scanner is 1.25 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches. the Controller is 3.25 x 4.5 x 1.25 inches. WEIGHT: Scanner is five ounces and controller is 10.33 ounces.
