(Verified 08/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Tactile Treasures, model 1-08842-00, is a tactile graphics set designed for use by teachers of young children who are blind or have low vision to aid in developing their understanding of basic concepts and vocabulary that are essential for reading and math. This tactile graphics set can be used as an informal teaching and assessment tool for children in preschool through elementary school. The set contains 79 thermoformed sheets with tactile graphics of objects such as pretzels, buttons, shells, etc. The thermoformed sheets are accompanied by a teacher's manual in print and braille that provides scripts or stories that can be used together with the sheets to introduce over 90 concepts such as shape, size, comparison, amount, position, and page orientation.
