Picture of KAUFMAN FUNCTIONAL ACADEMIC SKILLS TEST (K-FAST) - BRAILLE (MODEL 5-64500-00) The Kaufman Functional Academic Skills Test (K-FAST) - Braille, model 5-64500-00, is a braille assessment / evaluation tool designed for use to assess math and reading skills of children who blind or have low vision. This assessment is an individually administered test to determine the student's skills in applying knowledge of reading and arithmetic in a variety of real-life situations. Reading and arithmetic tasks on this test relate to everyday activities, such as understanding labels on drug containers, following directions in a recipe, budgeting monthly expenses, and making price comparisons. While the regular print version requires approximately 15 to 25 minutes to administer, the large print version will usually require 30 to 60 minutes administration time. The braille test package includes a regular print version of the K-FAST Manual, a supply of individual test records, an Administrator's Manual in braille, and two easel style test booklets.
