-------- PROTOTYPE --------- PURPOSE: To create a prototype enhancing the traditional red and white stick used by individuals with visual impairments. The Eye Stick is designed as a practical solution for commuters with visual impairments. Fitted with a sensor lens toward the bottom part of the stick, the Eye Stick picks up location bearings such as nearing a staircase or traffic lights. The Eye Stick then sends feedback to the user via vibrations, communicating a scenario of the environment so that the user can be aware of his or her surroundings and move accordingly. TITLE: Blind Stick with Eyes. WEBSITE: Yanko Design. REF: http://www.yankodesign.com/2009/09/08/blind-stick-with-eyes/. PAGES: 1 with cover.
