-------- PROTOTYPE --------- PURPOSE: To design a prototype of a small, supersonic wrist device that functions similar to a white cane for individuals who are blind or with low-vision. The Supersonic Stick on the Wrist for Blind People uses sonar to become aware of oncoming danger or obstacles and alerts the user to these obstacles through sounds and vibrations. The device is a comprised of a wrist piece that slips over the wrist with the supersonic stick fitting into the palm of the hand and facing outward.
