Picture of WIVIK 2 REP (RATE ENHANCEMENT PACKAGE) --- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 06/2006) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- WiViK 2 is an on screen keyboard program designed to provide a typing alternative for individuals with limited upper limb mobility who can not use a standard keyboard. The software creates a picture of a keyboard on the screen which can be activated by the Prentke Romich Headmaster Plus (see separate entry), or other mouse equivalent devices such as trackballs, touch screens and joysticks. Keystrokes can be entered using either a point and click or dwell method. As the characters are chosen, they will appear in a working application running on the same computer. The keyboards are resizeable, relocatable, and customizable to meet the users special needs. WiViK 2 REP offers the successive quatering and enlargement (SQ&E) access where quarter segments of the keyboard are repeatedly enlarged and redrawn until four keys appear on the screen. The user then selects the appropriate key. This is ideal for individuals who have imprecise pointing skills or low vision. This program also provides word prediction and abbreviation expansion. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows 98.

Notes: WiViK is a registered trademark of Bloorview MacMillan Centre (Formerly Hugh MacMillan Rehabilitation Centre). ** See also other WiViK entries.
