« Previous Product Next Product »--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 06/2006) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- WiViK 2 is an on screen keyboard program designed to provide a typing alternative for individuals with limited upper limb mobility who can not use a standard keyboard. The software creates a picture of a keyboard on the screen which can be activated by the Prentke Romich Headmaster (see separate entry), or other mouse equivalent devices such as trackballs, touch screens and joysticks. Keystrokes can be entered using either a point and click or dwell method. As the characters are chosen, they will appear in a working application running on the same computer. The keyboards are resizeable, relocatable, and customizable to meet the users special needs. WiViK 2 offers the successive quatering and enlargement (SQ&E) access where quarter segments of the keyboard are repeatedly enlarged and redrawn until four keys appear on the screen. The user then selects the appropriate key. This is ideal for individuals who have imprecise pointing skills or low vision. This program works with the Writing Rate Enhancement Package (see entry) to provide word prediction and abbreviation expansion. COMPATIBILITY: Works on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 386 or better; Minimum of 2 megabytes of RAM; hard drive; microprocessor clock speed of 16 MHZ or higher recommended; mouse or equivalent device required for entering text. Will only run with Windows 3.1. OPTIONS: The Writing Rate Enhancement Package is sold separately and only works with WiVik 2. WiVik with Scanning and a Switch Interface Box are also available.
