Accessibility Valet is web site accessibility evaluation software designed for use by managers and web site designers. This program helps ensure accessibility by analysing markup for conformity to web accessibility guidelines, specifically Section 508 and W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 1.0. The software is available in Desktop and Server editions. Reports are generated on two levels. Level 1 reports are for developers. They are generated by an automatic analysis of markup, and highlight possible accessibility problems. Warnings are shown where they arise in the markup, and include links to the exact guidelines that are violated. Level 2 reports are for management and QA (quality assurance) processes. They are generated from a Level 1 report after the user checks the warnings and decides what needs to be done. The user can, for example, override a warning and declare the guideline to be satisfied, identify repair work to satisfy the guideline, or make an informed decision not to conform to the guideline. The Level 2 report records these choices and generates an executive summary. COMPATATIBILITY: The desktop edition is available for use on IBM and compatible computers running Windows or for Unix/Linux. The server edition is available for for Linux, FreeBSD, or Solaris.
