The Tuffy Recliner 477 is a manual, heavy-duty, reclining wheelchair with a manual reclining back designed for use by large adults with lower extremity, mobility, severe physical, or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. In addition to the standard 477E model, this wheelchair comes in narrow (NE) and wide (WE) versions. FRAME (HxLxW): 42 (with seat back upright) x 48 x 24, 26 or 28 inches. The triple chrome-plated frame folds; the folded dimensions (LxW) are 34 x 12 inches. Anti-tippers and an anti-folding device are optional. SEAT (LxWxH): 17 x 16, 18 or 20 x 20 inches. A 33-inch high back is standard. The seat back reclines with the aid of hydraulic assist cylinders from 90 to 180 degrees. A seatbelt and headrest extension are optional. UPHOLSTERY: Dark blue sling upholstery of padded double-embossed, flame retardant vinyl. ARMRESTS: Removable desk-length padded armrests are standard. BRAKES: Adjustable toggle wheel locks are standard. Wheel lock extension tubes are optional. CASTERS: 8 x 1 inch casters with hard rubber tires. WHEELS: 24 x 1 inch rear molded wheels with hard rubber tires are standard. Pneumatic tires or pneumatic tires with airless inserts are optional. Composite handrims are standard; projection handrims are optional. FOOTRESTS: Cam-action swing-away detachable footrests and padded legrests are standard. Front riggings extend from 16 to 21 inches. Elevating legrests are standard. Leg straps and an anti-theft lock for front riggings are optional. OPTIONS: Anti-theft bar; wheelchair tray; IV rod attachment; and oxygen tank holder. CAPACITY: 250 pounds on models 477NE and 477E; or 310 pounds on model 477WE. WEIGHT: 50 pounds (model 477NE); 51 pounds (model 477E); or 53 pounds (model 477WE).
