Both of these models are designed to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards when properly installed and are engineered to adapt to a variety of installation requirements. The FE505 system is non-retractable and the FE506 is a retractable. Both models feature two rear push-button buckles to adjust the lap belt; a reinforced lap belt strap with stiffeners designed for quick fastening; one push-button buckle for quick release convenience for emergencies; an easy-to-release link for the connection of shoulder harness to lap belt, and these restraint belts consist of a combined polyester and nylon webbing. With its track end fittings, Model FE505 is specifically designed to provide for optimum shoulder belt positioning and security; the retractable FE506 system is designed to offer a variety of shoulder belt positions, and the shoulder belt is engineered to lock only during impact, providing safety similar to that of an automobile.
