-------- PROTOTYPE --------- PURPOSE: To design a prototype of a walking stick that balances so that it can stand independently and not fall over when not in use for individuals with balance, walking or mobility disabilities. The Balance Stick does not fall down and stands very well so that the user does not have to bend to grab it. Additionally, this device does not require the user to keep holding onto it in order for it stand independently, creating a hands-free benefit. The area onbottom end of the Balance Stick is small enough to pass through stairs and walk very easily. Finally, the Balance Stick can stand independently on a slope as well.
