This application (or app) allows a parent or teacher to use their Apple iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch to help children comprehend simple instructions and practice effective listening behaviors. Receptive Identification contains 85 images. The child is shown three images per page and asked with mixed and varied phrases to identify common objects and people. Examples include: “touch the cat,” “find the guitar,” “show me the scissors” or “where is the firefighter.” When the child or student responds appropriately, the app compliments him/her with varied verbal and random visual praises.
