--- DISCONTINUED. RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Safety Cane is a lightweight, hollow grain acrylic wand. The handle activates a low voltage lighting system using fiber optics which illuminates the entire wand so that it is visible at a distance of 150 to 200 yards. Light travels down the hollow shaft of the cane and is reflected back up the cane by the nylon tip. In the daytime, this cane looks like standard long white cane for the blind (model 1001), or an attractive amber glass support cane (model 1002) for those needing mobility support, but at night it becomes an illuminated wand. The lighting system contained in the handle has a 2 1/2 year guarantee and includes 2 AA batteries. Comes in 6 or 7 detachable sections, replacement parts available. Model 1002 can also be purchased in white.
